UV case printers, which primarily use digital direct-to-substrate inkjet printing technology, are gaining increasing favor among diverse user groups. The advantages of these printers are mainly reflected in their simple and efficient operation process: the entire procedure can be completed through software, with the basic steps being uploading the image → setting parameters → directly starting the printing task.
Since no printing plates are required, there are absolutely no restrictions on the quantity of prints. Users can freely modify or test their designs according to actual needs and print exactly the number of cases required, with no need to worry about overproduction leading to inventory buildup. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals or businesses involved in personalized customization.
You might assume that achieving multiple effects like full-color patterns and varnish simultaneously on a case would involve a very complicated process. However, in reality, printing such combined effects is not difficult at all—it can be accomplished simply by checking one additional option during the printing process. This is exactly where the advantage of digital inkjet technology lies: most of the operations can be easily controlled through software. Next, we will use the dual-printhead case printer model X4060 to demonstrate how to achieve a “full color + varnish” printing effect on a metal case:
Step 1: Please prepare the image file you intend to print in advance. The file should be in TIFF format, with a resolution of no less than 1200 and a minimum of 300 DPI. If the image is blurry, it will directly affect the clarity of the final print output.
Step 2: After importing the image into the printing software, you can freely configure the printing effects according to your needs. For example, in this video, since we want to showcase a glossy full-color pattern on the case, we need to check all three options: “White Ink,” “Color Ink,” and “Varnish.”
Step 3: Once the software settings are complete, do not forget to place the blank metal case in the corresponding position to ensure printing accuracy. At the same time, maintain a distance of 2–3 mm between the metal case and the printhead.
Step 4: All our settings have been preset. Now, you can proceed to start printing directly. You will see white ink, color ink, and varnish being printed simultaneously. Under the irradiation of the UV lamp, these liquids quickly solidify and firmly adhere to the surface of the metal case.
Step 5: Once the printing task is completed, you will obtain a finished product with a delicate pattern and a glossy surface. The result is perfect, achieved seamlessly in one go.
Users’ preferences for product specifications often vary, as they are influenced by multiple factors such as price, printing volume, and specific printing needs. For example, if you need to print cases in various shapes, including rectangular or cylindrical forms, we would recommend opting for a case printer equipped with a rotating printing module. On the other hand, if your printing tasks do not involve cylindrical objects and you do not require high-volume production on a regular basis, the entry-level X2030S model would be a more cost-effective choice. If you are still unsure about which option to select, please feel free to contact us directly. We will recommend the most suitable print cases machine model based on your specific usage scenario.

Rectangular cases, such as square and rectangular structures, have long been favored by the market due to their advantages in easy design, stacking, and transportation. However, with the rapid development of the packaging industry and consumers’ increasing demands for aesthetics and personalization, traditional rectangular cases can no longer fully meet market needs. To enhance product appeal and drive sales growth, more and more brands are adopting cylindrical and even various irregularly shaped cases to create visual differentiation. The Neixo case printer machine is specifically designed to meet businesses’ diverse and personalized customization needs. With its flat printing platform, you can easily output high-quality patterns on commonly structured cases like squares and rectangles. For printing on cylindrical cases, simply install the rotary attachment to achieve seamless 360° rotation printing, ensuring precise pattern coverage from every angle.
Our case printer achieves diverse printing effects because it utilizes UV inkjet technology. The printer can directly apply white ink and full-color patterns onto cases made of various materials; by increasing the stacking layers of white ink and using UV lamps for instant curing, it creates an embossed effect with a three-dimensional texture. For dual-printhead models, the second printhead can be dedicated solely to applying a varnish coating, enabling localized glossy or overall gloss effects. It is also worth emphasizing that dual-printhead models support UVDTF printing (crystal decals), allowing for flexible transfer of designs.
The case printing machine is equipped with CMYKW five-color ink cartridges. “C” stands for cyan, “M” for magenta, “Y” for yellow, “K” for black, and “W” for white. Among these, the “W” (white) ink is particularly versatile: it can be used as a base layer for colorful designs, ensuring vibrant colors on dark materials; it can also be printed alone to create minimalist white patterns or used to build up layers for embossed designs.
By mixing the CMYK four-color inks, the printer can reproduce thousands of colors, thereby replicating detailed full-color images. Whether it is a complex illustration or an exquisite photograph, it can be printed with high precision onto the case surface. This technology accurately reproduces rich colors and smooth gradients, making each case uniquely distinctive.
As mentioned earlier, by setting the white ink volume to the maximum and performing multiple stacked printing passes, followed by rapid curing of the ink with UV lamps, the white ink forms a noticeable thickness. A layer of colored ink is then printed on top of this base, resulting in a full-color design with a tactile embossed texture. Through software controls, you can choose to apply the embossing effect to specific local areas on the case surface or to the entire image.
Achieving this effect requires our dual-printhead case printer. One printhead is responsible for applying the CMYKW inks, while the other is dedicated to coating the varnish. When printing a case, you can choose to apply varnish locally to highlight the gloss in specific areas, or cover the entire design to give the pattern a overall crystalline, transparent shine. It is also possible to print a pure, colorless varnish layer alone, creating a smooth and glossy finish.
In addition to direct printing on the case surface, our dual-printhead printer supports advanced UV DTF printing. By printing white ink, color ink, and varnish directly onto an A-film, and then using a laminating machine to apply a B-film, pre-made, durable, and three-dimensional crystal decals are produced. These decals can be conveniently transferred onto various case surfaces as needed.
The UV case printer machine is often called a “universal printer” because it can print on almost any material surface without the ink fading or peeling. This includes common materials such as plastic, cardboard, and metal. Why is the case printer so highly compatible with different materials? The reason lies in the UV ink it uses, which is formulated with special components that react to UV light. Once exposed to the UV lamp, the ink rapidly cures on the surface of the object. This process forms a hard, durable ink layer that firmly adheres to the material and does not easily come off.
For custom product businesses or individual studios that are just starting out, large machinery can take up too much office space when the workspace itself is limited. Our case printer adopts a compact mechanical structure design, with an overall small footprint that does not occupy excessive space. Whether in an office, a personal studio, or even a room at home, it can be placed easily. You can flexibly adjust its location according to your available space—for example, placing it on a desk, on a shelf, or in a corner on the floor—without interfering at all with daily movement and workflow.
The printhead is a critical component of the printer and plays a key role in the printing process. The Neixo case printer uses an industrial-grade Epson TX800 printhead. Compared to standard desktop printing equipment, it delivers higher printing speed and superior print accuracy.
Before the advent of the UV case printer, traditional processes such as heat transfer and screen printing were the dominant methods in the market. Although heat transfer does not require plate making and can produce full-color images on various materials, its high-temperature transfer process can easily damage certain products, limiting its range of applications. Screen printing, on the other hand, offers low cost for single-color designs and results in highly scratch-resistant and durable finishes, but the platemaking process is cumbersome and the overall procedure is complex, making it relatively expensive for small batches or personalized customization.
In contrast, the UV case printer combines the advantages of both methods—it requires no plates, is simple to operate, and can directly print full color, embossed, varnish, and other effects on a wide range of materials without using high temperatures, thus avoiding any damage to the substrate. If the initial operation is overly complicated, it not only tests the user’s patience but can also hinder the smooth development of custom printing projects. Therefore, this low learning curve is especially important for small personalized customization businesses that are new to the printing industry.
